“They will not be welcome again”: Tarjei Boe walked through Russian athletes

MOSCOW, March 20 Norwegian biathlete Tarjei Boe criticized Russian athletes, who took part in the gala concert, which took place on March 18 at Luzhniki in honor of the Day of the Crimea's reunification with Russia. The event was attended, in particular, by the Olympic champion in cross-country skiing Alexander Bolshunov, the Olympic champion in swimming Evgeny Rylov, gymnasts Dina and Arina Averina , skaters Victoria Sinitsina, Nikita Katsalapov, Evgenia Tarasova, Vladimir Morozov. “I don’t think that Russian athletes understood something. They complain that they are not allowed to participate in competitions and are suspended, but they do not draw conclusions and do not clearly distance themselves ( from the position of the Russian authorities), in my opinion, they will not be welcome again,” Boe quotes NRK. Earlier, the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended that international sports federations not allow Russian and Belarusian ski athletes due to the aggravation of the situation in Ukraine. The Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) said that it would challenge in court the decisions of the international federations on the removal of Russians that followed the recommendation of the IOC.
