MOSCOW, March 23 Olympic champions Anna Shcherbakova and Mark Kondratyuk will be team captains at the Channel One Figure Skating Cup, the TV channel reported. The competition will be held on March 25-27 in Saransk and will consist of a jumping tournament, as well as short and free programs. The event will end with demonstration performances. Shcherbakova, the champion of the Beijing Games in single skating, Kondratyuk won the team competition. Earlier, the International Skating Union (ISU), against the backdrop of events in Ukraine, decided to exclude Russian and Belarusian figure skaters from the number of participants in the World Championship, which will be held in Montpellier (France) March 23-26.
