File photoMOSCOW, Mar 24Bulgaria's parliament voted in its second and final reading to abolish the so-called «golden passports» that allow one to obtain citizenship in exchange for investment in the country's economy, Sofia Globe writes.Amendments should become law in six months, at which time the authorities should check whether there are grounds for the annulment of already issued citizenships under the «golden passports» scheme. The submission of a residence permit based on investment in the country's economy remains in force. Earlier, the Bulgarian Ministry of Justice proposed to abolish the so-called «golden passports», which allow you to obtain citizenship of the country in exchange for investment in its economy. Citizenship legislation in force since 2013 provides for a foreigner who has invested at least one million leva (about 568 thousand dollars) in the Bulgarian economy.
