Papadakis and Sizeron set their own world record at the World Championships


MOSCOW, Mar 25 French figure skaters Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Sizeron set a world record in rhythmic dance at the World Championships in Montpellier, France. Papadakis and Sizeron on Friday received 92.73 points for their performance. The French have updated their own world record set in February at the Beijing Olympics – 90.83 points. The Americans Madison Hubbell/Zachary Donoghue (89.72) are second, their compatriots Madison Chock/Evan Bates (87.51) close the top three (87.51). four-time world champions, holders of world records in all types of programs and in total points. The International Skating Union (ISU), against the backdrop of events in Ukraine, suspended athletes from Russia and Belarus from competitions under its auspices, including from the World Figure Skating Championships. In 2021, the Russians Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov became the winners of the World Championship in ice dancing. Russian figure skaters will perform at the Channel One Cup on March 25-27 in Saransk. The competition will consist of a jumping tournament, as well as short and free programs. The event will end with demonstration performances. Skaters will present a free dance on Saturday.
