SYKTYVKAR, Mar 26 Skier Alexander Terentyev won the gold medal in the freestyle sprint race style at the Russian Championship, which takes place in Syktyvkar. Terentiev covered the distance in 2 minutes 28.11 seconds. The second place was taken by Alexander Bolshunov (+0.35), the third was Denis Filimonov (+0.47). Three-time world championship medalist Gleb Retivykh dropped out of the fight at the semi-final stage, taking fifth place in his race after a fall. Terentyev is 22 years old. He is a two-time bronze medalist at the Beijing 2022 Olympics. Bolshunov, 25, is a three-time Olympic champion, world champion, two-time World Cup winner and nine-time Russian champion. For the 22-year-old Filimonov, the medal was the first in the adult national championship. The Russian cross-country skiing championship in Syktyvkar will end on April 3rd.
