Orbán's alliance wins parliamentary elections in Hungary

File photoBUDAPEST, Apr 4 The ruling alliance Fidesz-Christian Democratic People's Party, led by Prime Minister Viktor Orban, wins the parliamentary elections in Hungary, the National Electoral Office (NVI) said. So, after processing 98.96 percent of the votes Fidesz-CDPP gains 67.84 percent and gets 135 seats in parliament out of 199, retaining the constitutional majority for the third time in a row. The coalition of opposition parties led by Peter Marki-Zaj is gaining 28.14 percent and winning 56 seats. Of the remaining eight seats, the right-wing Our Homeland movement holds seven and one for the German National List. The final turnout in the parliamentary elections was 69.54 percent, and in the referendum on the law banning LGBT propaganda among minors, 68.74 percent.
