
MOSCOW, Apr 4 Russian leader Vladimir Putin congratulated Viktor Orban on his coalition's election victory to the Hungarian parliament, the Kremlin press service reports. «President of the Russian Federation Putin sent a congratulatory telegram to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on the occasion of the victory of the party coalition led by him in the elections to the State Assembly of Hungary,» the message says. Putin expressed confidence that, despite the difficult international situation, the further development of bilateral ties is fully in the interests of the peoples of Russia and Hungary. In the parliamentary elections, the ruling alliance of Fidesz — the Christian Democratic People's Party, led by Prime Minister Viktor Orban, after processing 98.96 percent of the votes 67.84 percent and receives 135 seats in Parliament out of 199. A coalition of opposition parties led by Peter Marki-Zaj won 56 seats. They conceded defeat before the ballots were finished.
