UN Deputy Secretary General invited Lavrov to discuss humanitarian pauses in Ukraine

Ukrainian military in the village of Lukyanovka near KievMOSCOW, Apr 4 UN Deputy Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs Martin Griffiths, at a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, suggested discussing «humanitarian pauses» in certain areas of Ukraine, including north of Kyiv. «The Secretary General wanted me to discuss with you, with your authorities, the possibility of humanitarian pauses in Ukraine… I have certain ideas about this… I believe that there are opportunities for establishing humanitarian pauses in certain areas of the country, based on geography, for example, north of the capital (Kyiv — ed.), in Chernihiv, in Kherson, and so on «, — said Griffiths.
