Participants of a patriotic actionMOSCOW, 7 Apr. The British magazine The Economist counted the countries that sided with Russia and remained neutral during the aggravation of the situation in Ukraine, recognizing that most of the world's population lives in these states. The authors of the publication divided the states into pro-Russian, pro-Western and neutral. The first group included 28 countries, in which a third of the world's population lives in total. Among these states are China, Syria, Pakistan, Eritrea and Ethiopia. Another 32 states, which also account for up to a third of the world's population, adhere to a neutral status. Among them are India, Brazil and Bangladesh. 131 countries fell into the category of «pro-Western», where in total only 36 percent of the world's population lives. «About two-thirds of the world's population live in countries either neutral or pro-Russian. China and India — they account for up to a third of the world's population. The Chinese government — pro-Russian — avoids directly condemning Putin's actions and is unlikely to support the West. And the government of India — we classified it as neutral — has strengthened interaction with the Russian government, especially by reducing oil prices,” the authors of the article stated, eventually admitting that not the entire world community considers Russia a pariah. Earlier, the Italian journalist and political commentator Franco Battaglia reminded Europeans about the oppression of the Russian-speaking population in the Donbass and the construction of military infrastructure in Ukraine that threatens Russia. In addition, Battaglia mentioned Kyiv's sympathies for the Nazis and the militarization of the countryBulgaria told what place Russia will take in the new world orderRussia launched a special military operation on Ukraine February 24th. President Vladimir Putin called its goal «the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years.» For this, according to him, it is planned to carry out «demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine», to bring to justice all war criminals responsible for «bloody crimes against civilians» in Donbass. In response, the West announced new anti-Russian sanctions, which are aimed primarily at the banking sector and supply of high-tech products. Calls to reduce dependence on Russian energy resources have become louder in Europe. The Kremlin called these measures an economic war the likes of which have not yet been, but stressed that they were ready for such a development of events. ;
