A warehouse in a temporary military town near Belgorod exploded on March 29 due to shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to the Investigative Committee.
The explosions occurred in the evening in the village of Krasny Oktyabr and were visible in Belgorod. Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote about the «fire at the ammunition depot» and declined to comment further until «an official statement from the Ministry of Defense.»
Gladkov claimed that «there were no casualties or injuries among the residents.» The TASS and RIA Novosti agencies wrote about four injured soldiers. In total, as the Investigative Committee clarified, eight people received “serious harm to health”, “21 pieces of equipment were damaged.”
According to the agency, from the territory of the Kharkov region, a «at least 3 missiles equipped with cluster submunitions, the use of which is prohibited by international conventions.»
