The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution suspending Russia's membership in the Human Rights Council. The initiative was broadcast on the organization's website.
93 countries supported the initiative, 24 opposed it, including China, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Syria, Vietnam and the Central African Republic. Another 58 abstained.
Serbia and Hungary were among those who voted in favor.

Earlier, Russia was expelled from the Council of Europe due to the invasion of Ukraine. The decision was taken almost unanimously.
