MOSCOW, Apr 9 Formula 1 in the 2022 season as a replacement for the Russian Grand Prix is considering holding another race in Singapore, according to autosport.com. Previously, Formula 1 planned to replace the Russian stage with a race in Qatar, but due to uncertainty from the organizers, it is exploring alternative options, one of which is hosting a second race in Singapore in addition to the Grand Prix originally scheduled for September 30-October 2. In this case, the Marina Bay circuit will host two stages within two weeks, while the races will take place at different times of the day: at sunset and at night. It is noted that Singapore is only one of the possible options if it is not possible to agree with the organizers in Qatar. Formula 1 may also return to Bahrain, where the first round of this season was held. Singapore hosted the Formula 1 Grand Prix from 2008 to 2019, after which races were not held there due to the pandemic. In February, it was announced that due to the events in Ukraine, the 2022 Russian Grand Prix, which was supposed to be held on September 23-25 in Sochi, will not take place, and in March Formula 1 prematurely terminated the contract to host the Russian stage of the championship.
