EU headquarters in BrusselsBRUSSELS, Apr 11 The Czech Republic supports the aspirations of Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia to become members of the European Union will help these countries, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky said before the meeting of the EU Foreign Ministers. «The Czech Republic supports the aspirations of Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia for EU membership. For me, for the Czech Republic, we want to support them as much as possible in this aspiration,» he said. Head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, who was on a visit to Kyiv, handed over to Volodymyr Zelensky a questionnaire as part of the process of Ukraine's accession to the European Union. Similar questionnaires are expected to be received on Monday by Moldova and Georgia, which had also previously applied for membership in the union. Zelensky signed an application to join the European Union on February 28. The next day, the European Parliament supported a resolution granting Ukraine the status of a candidate country. Moldova and Georgia sent similar requests on March 3.
