MOSCOW, Apr 10 Russian businessman Roman Abramovich will try to buy a Spanish football club » Valencia after the sale of London's Chelsea, reports the Mirror. It was previously reported that Valencia owner Peter Lim put the club up for sale. Former vice-president of the Spanish club Miguel Sorio has officially announced that he will try to buy Valencia at the end of April. Now Sorio claims that one of the main contenders for the purchase of the Spanish club, which is experiencing financial difficulties, is precisely Abramovich. Also, the former head of the «bats» accused Lim of trying to sell the team to Abramovich and of leaking news to the media. Over the past few seasons, Valencia fans have openly protested against Lim several times and accused the management of depriving the team of assets in pending a future sale. Fans are worried that the club's budget has been cut, and Valencia has become a strong «middle peasant» of the championship of Spain. On March 10, the United Kingdom authorities imposed sanctions against seven Russian businessmen, including Abramovich. Those sanctioned are banned from entering the UK, and their assets in the country are frozen. Abramovich handed over management of Chelsea to a charitable trust and said he had decided to sell the club.
