Juventus president could be removed from office


MOSCOW, Apr 12 Andrea Agnelli, president of the Italian football club Juventus, may be suspended from office for a year for creating false financial statements when transferring players, and the club itself was fined 800 thousand euros, according to the website of the Italian Football Federation. This punishment was requested by the prosecution at a hearing in the Federal National Court. In total, about 60 managers and employees of eleven clubs are involved in the case of fraud with player transfers, five of which play in Serie A. The teams face fines, and their leaders, including Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis, are suspended for various periods. Napoli could be fined €392,000, Genoa €320,000, Parma €338,000 and Sampdoria €195,000.
