MOSCOW, Apr 22 Two-time Olympic swimming champion Evgeny Rylov suspended nine months from international competitions under the auspices of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) after attending a concert-rally in Luzhniki, according to the official website of FINA. Earlier, the FINA disciplinary commission opened a case against Rylov for participating in a festive concert, which took place on March 18 «in honor of the Day of the reunification of Crimea with Russia. The All-Russian Swimming Federation (VFPU) stated that it would take upon itself the protection of Rylov's interests in this matter. «The FINA Bureau took note of the decision of the FINA Disciplinary Commission to remove Yevgeny Rylov from participation in all competitions and events under the auspices of FINA, including any international competitions included in the FINA calendar, for a period of nine months after Rylov's presence and behavior at the event held at the Luzhniki stadium in Moscow. Rylov's suspension came into effect on April 20,» Rylov is 25 years old. He is a two-time Olympic champion of the Tokyo Games, and the swimmer also won silver and bronze in the Japanese capital. Rylov is a two-time world champion and three-time winner of the world short course championship.
