File photoTOKYO, Apr 24Rescuers found four people in an area in northern Japan where the KAZU 1 cruise ship with 26 people on board went missing, all of them unconscious, NHK reported. Later it became known that rescuers found three more people. Their condition is unknown. The ship left the port of Utoro on the island of Hokkaido on Saturday morning and headed for the area of the village of Shari, where picturesque waterfalls are located. The distress signal was received around 13.15 local time (07.15 Moscow time). According to the Maritime Safety Administration, there were 24 passengers on board, including two children, and two crew members. Two helicopters and patrol boats were sent to the ship's supposed location. A few hours later, members of the Japan Self-Defense Forces joined the search. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida interrupted his trip to the southwestern prefectures in connection with the incident and returned to Tokyo.
