MOSCOW, 27 Apr Liverpool beat Villarreal in the first semi-final match of the Champions League in football. The meeting, held in Liverpool, ended with a score of 2:0. As part of the winners, Sadio Mane scored (55th minute), and the goal was also scored by the guests' defender Pervis Estupinan (53). The Senegalese striker scored the 14th goal in the Champions League playoffs in his career. He repeated the record of former Chelsea forward Didier Drogba for goals in relegation matches among African football players. Also, Mane scored 20 or more goals in all club competitions for the fourth time in the last five seasons. The second leg between Villarreal and Liverpool will take place on May 3.
