Ex-first racket of the world was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison


MOSCOW, 29 Apr. Ex-world number one German Boris Becker sentenced by British trial to 2.5 years in prison on four counts related to his personal bankruptcy, Agence France-Presse reports. Becker is charged with hiding 3 million euros in assets and loans to avoid paying debts. Becker, in June 2017 declared bankrupt (the British media reported that the German debt was 54 million pounds), appeared in court on 19 charges of non-disclosure of information about money, property and debts from May to June 2017. The ex-tennis player, who is 54 years old, is not pleaded guilty on all counts, including that he concealed his stake in an AI company and did not mention bank accounts in Belgium and Guernsey (Channel Islands), as well as an apartment in London and two other properties in Germany.
