One of the streets of Kursk will be named after the former head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, who died in a terrorist attack in 2018, Mayor Igor Kutsak said. «I consider it fair to name one of the streets of Kursk in honor of the former first head of the Donetsk People's Republic Alexander Zakharchenko,» he wrote in his Telegram channel. The official noted that the ex-head of the DPR was one of the leaders of the protest movement in the Donbass in 2014, commanded a unit of the republic's militia. «The memory of this courageous and a brave person should live forever in the hearts of people,” the mayor of the city stressed. Zakharchenko died in an explosion at the Separ restaurant in the center of Donetsk on August 31, 2018. The authorities of the republic called the incident a terrorist attack.
