MOSCOW, May 22, Pavel Levkovich. Member of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and sports Roman Teryushkov called the head coach of the Ukrainian national football team Oleksandr Petrakov a scoundrel and suggested that the hysteria against Russian athletes would continue. Earlier, Petrakov, in an interview with the Corriere dello Sport newspaper, said that Russian athletes should be suspended from all competitions for at least 5 years.
"Petrakov is a scoundrel, there is not even anything to say. He put into words what sports functionaries are afraid to say: the International Olympic Committee (IOC), federations and so on. I think the hysteria will continue. In principle, Petrakov predetermined our future. I have long said that it is impossible to remain in organizations that promote values that are alien to us. We need to create our own international community with the principles that were laid down a very, very long time ago. Other countries will join us, I'm sure. Many are tired of the discrimination that occurs, including in the IOC", — said Teryushkov.
