Macron and Scholz demanded a ceasefire in Ukraine

On Saturday, Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Emmanuel Macron and Olaf Scholz. According to the Kremlin, the parties exchanged views on current aspects of the situation in Ukraine. President Emmanuel Macron and Chancellor Olaf Scholz reiterated to President Vladimir Putin that any solution to the military conflict must be agreed between Moscow and Kyiv, respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. They renewed their demand for a ceasefire,» the Elysee Palace said in a communiqué. The leaders France and Germany also urged Putin to have direct talks with Vladimir Zelensky as soon as possible.
