Russian armed forces have completely liberated the city of Krasny Liman from Ukrainian nationalists,» he said. The headquarters of the territorial defense of the DPR reported that the military managed to take the city under control. The head of the DPR Denis Pushilin announced the imminent liberation of the city on May 25. He noted that the Ukrainian troops took refuge in a local hospital where patients and civilians are located. Krasny Liman is a major railway junction in the Kramatorsk agglomeration. Since February 24, Russia has been conducting a military operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine. Vladimir Putin called its goal «the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years.» According to the Ministry of Defense, by the end of March, the Russian army had completed the main tasks of the first stage — it significantly reduced the combat potential of Ukraine.
