STEPANAKERT, May 28.Before the march of the opposition in Stepanakert, the capital of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, the priest participating in the action called on the Armenian people to “rally into one fist”, and the participants of the march, all as one, expressed dissatisfaction with the policy of the Armenian authorities; the protest processions and the rally ended with a concert dedicated to the Day of the First Republic with folk music and dances, a RIA Novosti correspondent who attended the action reports. An elderly man with the flag of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic asks if he can comment in Armenian, but still switches to Russian: «This event is dedicated to the liberation of the Armenian people, we want peace, we want freedom. We do not want the Turks to live with us. We are with Russia, we are with Armenia, we are all brothers.» At this moment, a very young man interrupts him and shouts: «Glory to Armenia, glory to Russia!»Pashinyan called on the EAEU countries for technological cooperation. The elderly participant of the action continues: “We want peace here, we don’t want war. We want freedom.” The next speaker is the head of the youth wing of the Justice Party, a young man with a quiet voice. We managed to discuss politics with him: «His party (Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan — ed.) does not represent the voice of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh in the international arena. We categorically disagree with the foreign policy pursued by Nikol Pashinyan.» He also spoke about Russian peacekeepers present in the region: «From the first day, as the peacekeeping contingent was deployed, from the first day we said that we are grateful to the military-political leadership of Russia. Today we all understand that the main guarantor of the security of the inhabitants of Nagorno-Karabakh is the Russian peacekeeping contingent with our peacekeeping mission. And we fully support, in the geopolitical context, the foreign policy of the Russian Federation, I mean the conflict between the West and Russia and the special military operation in Ukraine». .jpg» />NKR deputy: the world took up arms against Russia, but did not condemn the aggression against KarabakhBefore the start of the procession from the Church of St. Hakob, an Armenian priest read a sermon to the participants of the action — there were several of them in the ranks of the participants in the action. The correspondent of the agency managed to talk with one of them, he was brief, in response to the question of why he came to the procession, the priest replied: «To win.» To a clarifying question about what he meant by this, the clergyman replied: «That's it.» And then he added: «Everything is said here. For us to win. Both inside Armenia and outside. I believe we will win.» When asked if he wants a change of power in Armenia, the priest replied: «And this too.» And again he added: «So that our Armenian people rally into one fist, and that's all.» The procession, after short preparations and after its participants had gathered, headed towards the city center — from the church to Renaissance Square, where the presidential administration is located, about two kilometers. The participants of the rally passed them, accompanied by a car with music and police. Unlike the rallies in Yerevan, in Stepanakert, the protesters had many banners, including inscriptions in English and Russian: «Artsakh is Armenia», «The international community supports the Baku dictator and war criminal» («the international community» also got on other posters), «Turkey must pay, Turkey will pay».Nagorno-Karabakh supported Putin's decision to recognize the republics of DonbassPassers-by greeted the column, taking out Karabakh flags and joining the action. There was a feeling that some of the participants of the action decided to cheat and shorten their distance: not to go from the church, but to join the procession later. Armenian folk dances to the music from the speakers located at the entrance to the hotel. As a result, the action gathered on the Renaissance Square, almost completely filling it — the participants of the action merged with the people who came to the square to watch the concert dedicated to the Day of the First Republic. As a result, after the last rally, where Karabakh politicians spoke, a military-patriotic concert began on the square, but the square is still filled with people — but not the participants of the rally, but the spectators of the holiday (the former easily turned into the latter after the speech of the politicians). National music is played at the concert and a light show is arranged — the capital of Stepanakert is celebrating Independence Day.
