In Severodonetsk, which is being fought over in Donbass, there is no electricity, gas and water, as well as mobile communications, a resident of the city of Marina told RIA Novosti. Earlier, the official representative of the People's Militia of the Luhansk People's Republic, Ivan Filiponenko, said that the LNR forces, with the support of the Russian Armed Forces, wedged into the defense line of Ukrainian troops in Severodonetsk and occupied a bridgehead in the town. According to him, the Ukrainian security forces are hiding in the residential buildings of Severodonetsk and are firing at residential areas from which they have already withdrawn. «They are shooting in the city, they are bombing, we live in basements. There is no electricity, gas, water, there is nothing, there is no connection either,» Marina, a resident of the city, told RIA Novosti. According to her, about 10-12 thousand civilians remain in the city out of more than 100 thousand before the start of active fighting in the Donbass. Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24. President Vladimir Putin called its goal «the protection of people who have been subjected to abuse and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years.» To this end, according to him, it is planned to carry out «demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine» bloody crimes against civilians» of Donbass. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces strike only at military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops and, on March 25, they completed the main tasks of the first stage — they significantly reduced the combat potential of Ukraine. The main goal in the Russian military department was called the liberation of Donbass.
