MOSCOW, June 6 World No. 2 Estonian tennis player Anette Kontaveit revealed the reasons for the termination cooperation with Russian coach Dmitry Tursunov. Earlier, Tursunov himself announced the completion of work with the athlete.
"I am very grateful to him for the successful cooperation. He has a Russian passport and it's very difficult for him to get visas now, so he can't go to many tournaments. And I need a coach who is nearby. If I feel good off the court, then I feel good on the court. But in the current situation, I didn't have that confidence. Already in March, he could not go with me to the USA, and now to England", the Estonian portal ERR quotes Kontaveit.
Tursunov has been working with Kontaveit since August 2021. Under his leadership, the tennis player won five tournaments and made her debut in the top 10.
