The Svetlogorsk city court of the Kaliningrad region declared the list of Russian soldiers killed in Ukraine compiled by the Pskov 60.RU from open sources as prohibited information. 60.RU began to maintain a list of the dead military, whose death was publicly confirmed by the heads of regions and district administrations, on March 2. The copy of the list, available in the Google cache, mentions more than 200 military personnel from 47 regions. In the case of several dead, condolences were cited from the posts of officials.
The list of losses was recognized as prohibited information at the suit of the military prosecutor of the 73rd military prosecutor's office of the Baltic Fleet garrison. The court recognized it as information «revealing the loss of personnel in wartime, in peacetime during special operations.»
“The court also indicated that these data are state secrets, disclosure of which may result in criminal liability,” the journalists added.
After the court decision, 60.RU removed the list from its website.
