MOSCOW, June 7 State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin instructed First Vice Speaker Alexander Zhukov to discuss with representatives of the government of the Russian Federation the issue of granting the fighters of the DPR and LPR the status of a veteran of hostilities. The question was raised at the plenary session on Tuesday by deputy Mikhail Matveev from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. According to him, the social protection of those who fight in the units of the DPR and LPR should be «the same as that of Russian servicemen.» The politician proposed to formulate a protocol instruction from the State Duma. «Let's agree, ask Alexander Dmitrievich Zhukov to convene a meeting with representatives of the government, relevant committees, invite you and discuss this issue, which is really serious,» the speaker of the chamber said.
