Archival photoMURMANSK, June 9 The Murmansk region and Belarus intend to increase cooperation in various areas, including the development of engineering, the fishing industry, aquaculture, tourism and others, the Ministry for the Development of the Arctic and the Economy of the Kola Polar Region announced. The delegation of the Murmansk region is on a business mission to Belarus, during which a meeting was held between Deputy Governor of the Arctic Circle Olga Kuznetsova and Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Leonid Zaits. «The meeting highlighted long-term reliable ties and emerging opportunities to increase trade against the backdrop of changing geopolitical conditions,» the message says.»VEB.RF» intends to help develop the education sector in the Murmansk regionDuring the meeting of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and the Murmansk region, the participants discussed in detail the implementation of the action plan for the development of trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation for 2021-2023, and also summed up the results of bilateral contacts and identified specific tasks for the development of cooperation. As the deputy governor noted, the potential for interaction is far from being exhausted, she expressed her readiness to contribute to the implementation of the intentions and initiatives outlined during the visit in order to make the most of the available reserves of cooperation. «Among the promising areas of cooperation are mechanical engineering (production for northern features and supply of equipment, localization of service centers), training for the operation and maintenance of equipment, fishing industry, aquaculture (development and supply of feed) and agriculture (updating of machinery, equipment), settlements food and light industry,» the ministry noted. At the meetings, the potential of the tourism sector was noted: the unique nature of the Kola Peninsula and mountain skiing and crab safari, which are unusual for the inhabitants of Belarus, aroused great interest among representatives of the Belarusian tourism industry. For residents of the polar region, one of the promising areas of tourism to Belarus is the sanatorium complexes of the republic.
