Coveney stated that Ireland remains open to dialogue with the UK. «The British government has decided to start what could now become a period of real tension between the EU and the UK and between the UK and Ireland … Many problems that were resolved through the protocol in lengthy and difficult negotiations and compromises will now return. If the British government continues with this bill, if it becomes law, the elements of the protocol that protect Ireland will no longer apply,» the Irish minister added in an interview with RTE.
