File photoMOSCOW, June 14Russia guarantees the life and proper treatment of the Ukrainian military at the Azot plant (Severodonetsk) who will surrender, Colonel-General, head of the Russian National Defense Control Center, said on Tuesday Mikhail Mizintsev. «The Russian Federation guarantees the preservation of life and compliance with all the norms of the Geneva Convention on the treatment of prisoners of war, as happened with those who had previously surrendered in Mariupol. The actual readiness of the Ukrainian side to start a humanitarian operation is indicated by the raising of white flags,» he said. Mizintsev noted that this statement is immediately communicated to the Ukrainian side through operational channels through the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk.
