"Never during the Fifth Republic in the National Assembly no such configuration was observed. This situation poses a threat to our country, given the challenges that we will face both at the national and international levels. But we must respect this vote and draw conclusions from it,» the prime minister said during her speech.

She noted that from Monday, the authorities should intensify and accelerate their actions «in the interests of all citizens.» After processing more than 70 percent of the ballots of the coalition of French President Emmanuel Macron «Together!» won 36.06 percent of the vote. Jean-Luc Mélenchon's left-wing New People's Ecological and Social Union (Nupes) received 27.08 percent, Marine Le Pen's National Rally party 21.57 percent. Mélenchon said the preliminary results of the parliamentary elections indicate the failure of Macron's policies. Le Pen promised that her party intends to represent a tough but constructive opposition.
