MOSCOW, June 22 Defender of the National Hockey League (NHL) Detroit Red Wings» Moritz Seider became the owner of the Calder Trophy. The prize is awarded to the best rookie of the NHL regular season. In the 2021/22 regular season, Zaider played 82 games and scored 50 points (7 goals + 43 assists). The award has been awarded since the 1936 season /37. The winner of the Calder Trophy is determined by a secret ballot of members of the NHL Sports Writers Association. Last season, Russian Kirill Kaprizov of the Minnesota Wild won the award. He became the seventh Russian to receive this prize, having previously been awarded to Pavel Bure, Sergei Samsonov, Evgeny Nabokov, Alexander Ovechkin, Evgeny Malkin and Artemy Panarin.
