MOSCOW, June 22 President of the French football club Paris Saint-Germain Nasser Al-Khelaifi said that the club had never negotiated with Zinedine Zidane regarding his appointment as head coach of the team. Earlier, the media reported that the Argentinean Mauricio Pochettino would be dismissed from the post of PSG head coach. He took over the club in early January 2021. In July, the Argentinean extended his contract until the summer of 2023. One of the main contenders for Pochettino's seat was called Zidane. «We never negotiated with him (Zidane). Neither directly nor indirectly. When I say «we», I mean PSG. As for me, as president of the club, then I never spoke to him,» Al-Khelaifi was quoted by AFP. Al-Khelaifi also confirmed that negotiations are underway with Nice head coach Christophe Galtier. «We have chosen a coach who will be the best for what we want to achieve. I hope we can reach an agreement quickly, but I respect Nice and its president, everyone stands up for their own interests,» the PSG president added.
