MOSCOW, June 21 The National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Spain refused to submit applications for hosting the 2030 Winter Olympics due to disagreements between the authorities of Aragon and Catalonia, according to the organization's website. The decision was unanimously adopted at the general assembly of the NOC of Spain. It is noted that the parties could not reach an agreement on the distribution of sporting events between the regions. The NOC has informed the International Olympic Committee (IOC) that Spain plans to continue to work with the Games Commission with a view to hosting the Winter Games in the country at a later date. The Catalan authorities had previously announced a sole bid to host the Winter Olympics. The region has stated that the joint bid with Aragon is «dead» and the province should single-handedly fight to host the 2030 Games. Canadian Vancouver and Whistler, Japanese Sapporo and American Salt Lake City were reported.
