NEW DELHI, Jun 22 Russia will firmly and actively seek the rights of athletes to participate in international competitions, said the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin. Earlier it became known that Russian judokas will take part in the Grand Slam tournament, which will be held in Ulan Bator, as neutral athletes. Earlier, the International Judo Federation (IJF) canceled all tournaments in Russia due to the aggravation of the situation in Ukraine. At the same time, the organization allowed athletes from Russia to take part in international tournaments in a neutral status. «The Judo Federation will hold a Grand Slam in Ulaanbaatar, a decision has been made on the participation of Russian athletes. Therefore, we will firmly and actively seek the right of our athletes to participate in (international ) competitions,» Matytsin said.
