The current head of the organization, Viktor Maigurov, and vice-president of the RBU, Alexei Nuzhdov, were running for the presidency. 35 delegates voted for Maygurov, 18 for Nuzhdov. 2/3 of the votes of the delegates were required to win. Repeat elections will be held at the end of August. “Let them fight,” Reztsova said, commenting on the results of the vote. “One of the candidates is a biathlete, the other is an uncle with money. But Maigurov has been leading the Russian Biathlon Union for two years, and he doesn’t really succeed. My daughter Kristina won a medal at the Olympic Games, and she prepared for them on her own, separately from the team. For some reason, she was ahead of everyone (Russian women).
