MOSCOW, 24 Jun. Team Australia set a world record in the 4x100m freestyle mixed relay at the World Aquatics Championships in Budapest.
The result of the team, which included Jack Cartwright, Kyle Chalmers, Madison Wilson and Molly O'Callahan, totaled 3 minutes 19.38 seconds. The previous record was held by the US team (3:19.40) and was set at the 2019 World Championships in Gwangju, South Korea.
The second place in the relay was taken by the Canadian team (3:20.61), the US team was third (3:21.09) .
The World Aquatics Championship takes place in Budapest from 18 June to 3 July. In March, the International Swimming Federation (FINA) suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in competitions due to the situation in Ukraine.
