MOSCOW, June 25 The Ukrainian team in synchronized swimming won a gold medal in the discipline «highlights» at the World Aquatics Championship, which takes place in Budapest. Ukrainian women scored 95.0333 points and became world champions in this discipline for the second time. Silver medals were won by Italians (92.2667), bronze — by Spaniards (91.9333). This discipline was the final in synchronized swimming at the World Championships. In the overall standings, the Chinese team won four gold and two bronze medals, the second was the Ukrainian team (2-5-0), the third place was taken by the Japanese team (2-4-1). The World Aquatics Championship is held in Budapest and ends July 3rd. In March, the International Swimming Federation (FINA) suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in competitions due to the situation in Ukraine. At the previous World Championships, Russian athletes won nine out of ten possible gold medals in synchronized swimming.
