St. PETERSBURG, July 6, Taras Barabash. Lawyer Alexey Ponomarev, representing the interests of hockey player Ivan Fedotov, said that his client never had a military ID before being sent to the ranks of the armed forces. On Friday, the media reported that Fedotov was detained in St. Petersburg by members of the military registration and enlistment office. On Sunday, Ponomarev said that his client was supposedly being sent to Severomorsk, but there was no connection with him. On Monday, a number of media outlets, citing sources, reported that the athlete was in Severodvinsk. On Tuesday, Fedotov's lawyer said that the hockey player is on the territory of a military unit. «I would like to speak about the current incomprehensible information that is being discussed about Ivan once buying some kind of military ticket. At the moment, the investigating authorities have no complaints on this issue. Before Fedotov was sent to the armed forces, he did not have a military ID. Therefore, all this information is not true. I cannot explain the question of other hockey players. But I absolutely know that Ivan did not have any military ID. They discuss the period of 2017. As far as I know, at that time he generally had a respite from the army, as he studied at the institute,» Ponomarev said.
