MOSCOW, Jul 7 British boxer Joshua Buatsi received an offer to fight the Russian Dmitry Bivol, who defended the World Boxing Association (WBA Super) light heavyweight title in May in a duel against the Mexican Saul Alvarez, was announced by promoter Eddie Hearn. Earlier, another Russian boxer Artur Beterbiev, who united after the victory over American Joe Smith Jr. in June for the World Boxing Council (WBC), International Boxing Federation (IBF) and World Boxing Organization (WBO) light heavyweight championship belts. «We want Buatsi to fight Bivol. We made Buatsi an offer, we we want to make sure he's happy and hopefully we can get this fight done but nothing's finished yet signed,» Hearn said in an interview with Pro Boxing Fans posted on YouTube. In May, Hearn said that in if Bivol decides to make a voluntary title defense, Buatsi will become his likely opponent, the fight in this case will take place in September or October. Bivol is 31 years old, the undefeated Russian has 20 wins in professional boxing (11 by knockout). 29-year-old Buatsi is the bronze medalist of the 2016 Olympic Games, in the professional ring he won 16 victories in 16 fights (13 by knockout).
