
MOSCOW, Jul 10 Zenit St. Petersburg midfielder Wendel is close to moving to Brazilian football club Flamengo, according to Twitter journalist Gabriel Reis.According to a source, the 24-year-old player is already moving to Brazil. He told his close friends from his hometown of Duki de Caxias about this, and also bought a car in Rio de Janeiro. Journalist Julio Miguel Neto added to Reis's information that Wendel was already in talks and informed Zenit head coach Sergei Semak about his desire to play for Flamengo. He also noted that the footballer is negotiating with the Brazilian club on salary. Coluna Dofla previously reported that Wendel and his family intend to return to Brazil, as the midfielder has an offer from Flamengo. It was noted that the Brazilian's agent is trying to find an option for Wendel to continue his career in one of the European clubs. Zenit CEO Alexander Medvedev later said that Wendel was far from leaving the St. Petersburg club. Wendel moved to Zenit from Sporting Lisbon in October 2020.
