MOSCOW, Jul 11 Olympic silver medalist with US volleyball team Kim Glass suffered a facial injury as a result of an attack by a homeless man in Los Angeles, according to the New York Post. The former volleyball player said that the incident occurred in downtown Los Angeles when she left a cafe. She was then approached by a homeless man who, she said, looked at her with a «hateful look». Glass wanted to tell her friend that something was wrong with the homeless man and he wanted to hit the car. The homeless man then hit her with a metal pipe. Witnesses of the incident detained him until the police arrived. As a result of the attack, 37-year-old Glass received a cut above her eye and on her nose. She also has a severe hematoma around her eye, she received several stitches. «I have multiple injuries. It happened so quickly. He literally threw a pipe. Guys, just be vigilant. There are a lot of mentally ill people on these streets now,» Glass said.
