The convicted administrator of the oppositional Chechen telegram chat, Salekh Magamadov, disappeared from prison No. 2 «Vladimirsky Central». Mediazona was informed about this in the SOS crisis group.
Today, July 15, lawyer Alexander Nemov was not allowed into Vladimirsky Central to meet with Magamadov. The jailers first reported that all meeting rooms were occupied. Then the FSIN officer said that Magamadov was not in prison.

The brothers Salekh Magamadov and Ismail Isaev were detained in February 2021 in Nizhny Novgorod and taken to Chechnya. Later they were sent to a pre-trial detention center, where they went on a hunger strike, which they held for more than two weeks.
Lawyers were regularly not allowed to see the brothers even during the investigation. Magamadov and Isaev spoke about torture in SIZO-1 in Grozny. The Investigative Committee refused to open a case of torture, considering that their statements «are aimed at alleviating the fate of the unlawful acts committed.» The decision not to open a case also stated that the brothers' requests to transfer their case to another region were related to their «non-traditional sexual orientation.»
The brothers were found guilty of complicity in participating in an illegal armed group (part 5 article 33, part 2 of article 208 of the Criminal Code) and sentenced to terms of up to eight years in prison. Magamadov will spend the first year of his term in prison, the remaining time in a strict regime colony.
According to investigators, Isaev and Magamadov corresponded with Rustam Borchashvili, a member of an illegal armed group, and in June 2020 they handed him a package of food — juice, tea, bread and chocolates. The brothers do not admit guilt and insist that the case is fabricated.
