The 2024 Olympics will be held from July 26 to August 11 in Paris.
" Wait and see. We are ready for any prospect. There is no need to create alternative games yet. Will show time. I hope that reason will prevail. As many international federations note, the development of sports is impossible without Russia. It is a crime not to allow the Russian team to the Olympic Games", said Matytsin.
Earlier, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) noted that the position of the organization regarding sanctions and protective measures after the start of a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine remains unchanged. At the end of February, the IOC recommended that international sports federations not allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in competitions due to the situation in Ukraine. A number of international federations excluded Russians and Belarusians from competitions under their auspices, and also canceled the competitions in Russia, other federations allowed athletes in a neutral status.
