MOSCOW, Jul 25 The Russian Football Union (RFU) plans to nominate a candidate Maxim Mitrofanov for approval for the post of general secretary of the organization, two unrelated sources reported. Mitrofanov previously served as deputy general secretary — development director of the RFU. Previously, the secretary general of the organization was Alexander Alaev, who is now acting president of the Russian Premier League. Alaev became the only candidate for the post of head of the RPL. Elections will be held on August 16. «Alaev's successor as Secretary General will most likely be Mitrofanov. His candidacy will be nominated for approval at the next RFU conference,» the source said.
