British video blogger Graham Phillips said there was no real reason for London to put him on the sanctions list and compared the decision to the actions of banana republic bandits. Phillips for «media content that supports and promotes actions and policies that destabilize Ukraine and undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty or independence of Ukraine.» The UK sanctions against the blogger include an account freeze. «There are no real charges against me that result in punishment, so I have nothing to defend myself against. There is not a single real charge, only that the British government does not like my work, and therefore they can act like a band of banana republic bandits and seize my bank accounts,» the blogger wrote on his Telegram channel. Phillips is a British citizen and previously worked as a freelance correspondent for RT in Ukraine. During his work in Ukraine, he was twice detained by the SBU. In 2016, Phillips was detained by the Latvian police during a procession of SS legionnaires in Riga.
