Ukrainian troops for the third time in a day tried to launch a missile attack on Kherson, RIA Novosti was told in the press service of the administration of the Kherson region. The first attack on Kherson on Tuesday was delivered early in the morning, the second — in the afternoon. All missiles were intercepted by the air defense system. «At night, the Ukrainian side again attempted to launch a missile attack on Kherson,» the administration told RIA Novosti. The press service stressed that, according to currently available information, all missiles were intercepted by the air defense system. There was no information about possible damage or casualties. At the same time, the administration denied the information that appeared in Ukrainian social networks about the destruction of the Antonovsky bridge, which connects Kherson with the left-bank part of the region. Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24. President Vladimir Putin called its goal «the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years.» For this, according to him, it is planned to carry out «demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine», to bring to justice all war criminals responsible for «bloody crimes against civilians» in Donbass. During the special operation, the Russian military took control of the Kherson region and the Azov part of the Zaporozhye region. New administrations have been formed in both regions, Russian TV channels and radio stations are broadcasting, and trade ties with Crimea are being restored. The regions announced their plans to become part of Russia.
