File photoWASHINGTON, Jul 26 The White House expects U.S. President Joe Biden to have a phone call with Chinese leader Xi Jinping this week, and topics for discussion could include tensions over Taiwan and the crisis in Ukraine, said John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator at the US National Security Council, called it an important task for the US administration to manage competition with China and keep channels of communication open. I can give you a specific date and time,» Kirby said at the briefing. «They will have many topics to discuss… Everything from friction over Taiwan, to the war in Ukraine, and how we can best manage our two countries' competition, including, economics, of course,» he added.
