MOSCOW, Jul 29 Four athletes and coach of the Eritrean men's athletics team disappeared during the World Cup, which was held in Eugene, USA, according to Fox12, citing the National Athletics Federation of Eritrea. The missing athletes and coach became known on the last day of the World Cup. The exact cause of the disappearance has not been established. It is noted that there is no evidence that would prove that the men did not leave their place of residence on their own. Later, the Eritrean Athletics Federation reported that all the missing were found, the athletes resumed work with the team. The World Championships in Athletics were held from 15 to 24 July. The Council of the World Athletics Association (World Athletics) on March 1, against the backdrop of events in Ukraine, suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in international tournaments. Prior to this, the Russians, due to a doping scandal, had the right to play in a neutral status since 2015.
